Media are categorized in a four-level classification hierarchy: Area, Category, Group and
Subject. The first level allows selection of broad subject classifications, while each
succeeding level further focuses the selection process. Numbers by each classification group,
indicate the count of media items currently available in that classification. "Browsing"
through hierarchal levels to Subjects will allow focused access to media of interest.
A free-text key-word search may be carried out also. In such a search, specific names,
words or characters entered will yield a list of items in which those specific search
elements are found. All hierarchal classifications, subject names, scientific names, media
numbers and media descriptions are examined in a free-text search.
Once a preferred media item is located, media can be viewed at an enlarged size and all
media can be downloaded using standard Web downloading techniques.
